Why make a hair conditioner bar?

One of our customers asked us to do it. She was using one sold on Etsy. We looked at the ones on Etsy and noticed something interesting. They appeared to be all the same. These tiny bars were just oils and waxes. My question to her was: How do you rinse out the waxes after your hair is conditioned? She said it wasn’t easy. I told her if we couldn’t make one that was far better, we wouldn’t make one. And I think we did. Also her one other request was to make a large bar. The ones we looked at were just 3 or 4 ounces. Tiny. The ingredients are expensive.

Why use Water?

In order to condition and rinse clean, we had to add a small amount of water to the mix. We use only the finest water: Reverse Osmosis Purified water.

What does water do?

Water works together with the oils and waxes to emulsify so that the ingredients become one. This means your hair can better make use of the ingredients. Of course this makes this bar much more complex and difficult to make.

How is it made?

After the butters and waxes are gently melted to a specific temperature, the water is added at a specific temperature and constantly mixed until it cools enough to pour into a form. Then cured and cut and cured more.

Do you need to leave it in the hair for a while?

No. You may, if you wish. Seems to work just fine with short contact.

Got this as a promotional offer, never used a conditioning
bar before so didn’t know what to expect. The only
thing I knew about conditioning bars is that they
condition hair after shampoo and they are very
convenient for traveling; no size restrictions like with
liquids. May I also add they are very, very , very popular.
So I used my herbal shampoo as usual and then
rub conditioning bar. This really has to be rub because
it is very solid. After rubbing in I covered and left in hair
for 30 mins then rinse, Rinsing out felt so luxurious I
never wanted to stop. You do have to rinse out thoroughly
because it is more concentrated than the liquid so
you don’t want anything left on hair.
After washing out I air dried and
styled as usual. I would say for anyone that love bars
this is a WINNER….and although I prefer to use liquid conditioner
I can see the idea of using this one growing on me.

3 long hair testers comment on our new conditioning bar:

Wow, wow, wow!!!!! You don’t even know how much I love this!!!! Hands down better than any of the others I’ve tried….and trust me, I thought the one I liked before was going to be tough to beat. AFTER DRYING: No dullness, not weighed down or greasy.  Just soft and shiny hair!!! It’s amazing!!!  Ambrosia

Hi Mr. Wills, well my husband Jeremy says my hair looks amazing, the conditioner works great for my hair type! Who would have thought that my hair would be fluffy and shiny without being too oily, not me?! Jill F.

I really liked how soft my hair was when it dried and how defined my waves were and how my hair didn’t fly away all over like it had some weight to it. J.R.

Cocoa Butter. Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter

BTMS (Behentrimonium Methosulfate Cetearyl Alcohol) This is a sulfate free ingredient. BTMS Conditioning Emulsifier is an excellent cationic self-emulsifier and conditioner for both hair and skin care. It is naturally derived from Colza oil and is noted for its exceptional mildness. BTMS Conditioning Emulsifier offers innovative properties to formulations as both a mild primary emulsifier and an excellent conditioning agent. Although this is an emulsifier, it cannot do so without the presence of water.

Reverse Osmosis purified water: virtually all skin care products ‘say’ they use purified water. But the real deal is reverse osmosis purified water. This mean ZERO contaminants which means the starting point is pure. It’s expensive to do (goes through 5 filters, which have to be changed often), but it is the only water we use. We use the waste water from this purifying process to water our flowers and landscaping. So there is no waste. Don’t some products use distilled water? Yes but distilled water is environmentally expensive to make (heat is used to boil the dirty water and stream is collected). The problem we have with distilled water is it has a lower pH due to the extra ions added during the process. We prefer to work with pH neutral water. To me there is no more perfect water than R-O water. I remember the 1st time we made soap with it. As we poured the soap is was so creamy! It looked like home-made ice cream right before it gets solid. It’s one of our special secrets to how good our products are. Again, no one does this.

Mowrah Butter: (Bassia latifolia seed butter) Also known as Mahua butter, it is derived from the fruit kernels of the Madhuca (butter) tree, which is native of India. In India this butter has both cosmetics and edible uses. It is known to reduce the degeneration of skin cells, prevent wrinkles, and restore skin flexibility. Although a solid at room temperature, Morah butter melts when it comes into contact with skin. Mowrah butter is high in oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and linoleic acid. Mowrah butter is regenerative and emollient. Plus Mowrah Butter has a high slip rate. Which makes it perfect to replace silicone which is used in most hair products.

Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (vegetable) this is a waxy vegetable ingredient used to give the moisturizers a bit of heft and contact feel.

Virgin Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil) One of the most precious carrier oils in the world. The Argan Tree only grows in Morocco. Each Tree takes 2 years to make a crop.

DL Panthenol (2%) Panthenol is present in all living cells in the form of Pantothenic acid which is a constituent of Co-enzyme A. A deficiency in Panthothenic acid results in dermatological and many physiological disorders. Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5) is a natural constituent of healthy hair. Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) will convert to pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) in hair. Panthenol conditions the hair without build up.

Natural Essential oils.

Germall Plus (4/10’s of 1%) (diazolidinyl Urea, 3-Iodo-2-propylbutylcarbarmate) (a vegetable derived preservative to keep our product fresh) only needs 4/10’s of one percent to keep our product safe. Look before you ask, no totally natural preservative really protects products from bacteria. We don’t like using Parabens. and since we pH balance our moisturizers we are limited in our choice of preservatives. What’s great about this one is so little is needed to afford protection.

So why are we different?

We decided a long time ago, not to go big. Not to sell out. Our business model was the very best ingredients, fresh made and shipped direct to our customers. No Retail stores to get in the way. Or tell us what to do. We are not perfect. We make mistakes. We are working with highly precious ingredients that make producing products with them difficult. If our products aren’t good enough, then we keep improving them until they are good enough. We listen to our customers and respond to their requests and suggestions. Our only boss is our customers. Our guarantee comes with no time limit.

No animal ingredients or testing EVER! We also get assurances from our suppliers that all of our raw ingredients are not animal derived or any animal testing done there either.

All skin care products you buy today, were made in large factories years ago and have been in storage. Everything we ship was made in small batches within a few weeks of shipping. Fresh matters!  Quality ingredients matter!

Most of our ingredients are as close to natural as possible. We avoid overly processed ingredients. Processing means heat and that destroys the goodness in these precious ingredients we use.

We also include a free FULL SIZE bar of our Natural shea butter non-drying soap with each jar. An $8.00 value if purchases singly. This Natural soap has to be tried to be believed. It is nothing short of wonderful.

How much? $17.99 for 7 Oz. (198 grams). Free USA shipping.
