One of our customers (I can’t remember her name)
came to us asking us to produce a conditioning bar for her hair. She uses
many of our products and wanted us to make one similar to one she was buying on
the internet. At first I pushed back, to say I was skeptical was an understatement. After my first use my skeptism melted away. (BTW if that is you, please contact us. We want you to try the 5th
version)
We don’t just copy: If we make a product others are making, we
always try to upgrade it to make it significantly better, usually for a better
price.
After doing 5 versions I think this is about as
good as this product can get. We replaced coconut oil for Argan Oil. Argan is
considered a premium ingredient for hair care. If you got a previous bar of this you got an early version. This is much better.
How long will it last? Probably longer than a bottle of hair conditioner. It needs to dry between uses or it will soften.
You supply the water. So every ingredient is an active ingredient helping you to have the best hair.
Here is my experience: As a guy, I have always kept
my hair short. Once it grows out, it becomes wild and unmanageable. In the
morning, I lightly wet my hair. I use the bar to glide through my hair. Mostly
on the top surface. It seems to work its way on its own into my hair and scalp
as I brush. My hair stays in place all day. After a few days of doing
this routine, my hair is now soft and manageable even as the weather is currently
very dry. I can wear it as long as I want. PLUS: My hair feels and looks
healthier and less prone to breakage. PLUS PLUS: I’ve always had an
issue with little sores or cuts and dryness in my scalp. Previously I fixed
this by using our 30 minute scalp treatment, but now my scalp feels healthy, hydrated
and soft all the time. Steve

Hi Steve,
With my last order, I was sent a hair
conditioning bar in a small bag (no product-specific name, just hair
conditioning bar) and a request that you are asking some of your customers to
try it on their hair and provide honest feedback. I didn’t see a spot on the
site to do this, so I am sending this email!
I have used it exclusively for just
over a week now. The only drawback I can mention is the length of time it takes
to work through my hair to feel that it’s really in there (my hair right now is
rather thick and about shoulder length or a bit longer). Everything else about
the conditioning bar is wonderful. As a note, I put it in at the beginning of
my shower after shampooing, and leave it in until just before I get out, then I
rinse it out. I do not customarily like leave-in conditioners as they typically
leave an unpleasant residue of some sort.
My hair is easy to brush out and
tangle free.
It feels well-conditioned.
My hair is super soft and curls up
nicely with slight hand crimping while still wet. I do not blow dry my hair.
It smells a little sweeter than what
I’m accustomed to (products that are too sweet or too fragrant can cause me to
have headaches) but the smell is extremely light and pleasant and not at all
overpowering. Definitely a plus!
My hair feels clean and lightweight,
but soft and fluffy. There is no dryness experienced whatsoever.
Other than the extra time to work
through my hair, I have found this product to be EXTREMELY wonderful to use. It
rinses clean and leaves hair clean, leaves no residue, and again leaves my hair
very soft and lightweight.

The hair conditioning bar:
It seemed strange to use. After shampooing I would rub the bar in my hands like a bar of soap, apply to hair, wait 60 seconds and then rinse. I usually don't care for most conditioners as they leave my hair limp....this didn't, in fact it improved body.
Would I purchase when available? Yes.

I recommend rubbing into your hair. Not a lot is needed. Just massage it into the scalp.
How to use: I wash my hair at the beginning of my shower, rinse. The rub the bar over my hair and massage it in. Then do the rest of my cleansing. This gives it a couple minutes or so to work its magic. Then rinse. Or leave it in for great control.
INGREDIENTS:
BTMS (Behentrimonium
Methosulfate Cetearyl Alcohol) This is a vegetable wax.. Sulfate and sulfur
free. It sort of holds this bar together. We had the hardest time to come up
with the right percentage so the bar wouldn’t break apart. It feels right now.
Mowrah
Butter:
(Bassia latifolia seed butter) Also known as Mahua butter, it is derived from
the fruit kernels of the Madhuca (butter) tree, which is native of India. In
India this butter has both cosmetics and edible uses. It is known to reduce the
degeneration of skin cells, prevent wrinkles, and restore skin flexibility. It
is a valuable butter for hair growth and health. Although a solid at room
temperature, Morah butter melts when it comes into contact with skin. Mowrah
butter is high in oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and linoleic acid.
Mowrah butter is regenerative and emollient.
Argan Oil: Argan Oil is a luxurious, lightweight oil
treasured for its ability to deeply nourish, smooth, and restore both hair and
skin. This golden oil is naturally rich in vitamin E, antioxidants, and
essential fatty acids that hydrate, protect, and revitalize without leaving a
greasy feel. Argan Oil is imported from Morocco.
In hair care, Argan Oil helps reduce frizz, enhance shine, and
improve manageability while locking in moisture, making it an ideal ingredient
for serums, masks, leave-in conditioners, and scalp treatments.
Extra Virgin Avocado Oil: This oil doesn't look anything like the highly processed oil you buy in stores. (we always use the finest ingredients) It is thick and simply loaded with nutrients. Extra Virgin Avocado Oil is an unrefined
oil, cold pressed extracted from the fruit flesh of the Avocado, botanically
referred to as Persea gratissima. This virgin carrier oil yields a
characteristic green appearance with an aroma and flavor profile reminiscent of
the fresh fruit. Extra virgin avocado oil is known to be naturally rich in
Vitamin E and Oleic Acid content, highly desired attributes sought-after
throughout the nutraceutical and cosmetic industries.
Cocoa butter is a very good moisturizer for hair Because cocoa butter has a high content of fatty acids (including oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid), these fatty acids are very easily absorbed into the hair shaft and provide deep hydration and moisture to dry, damaged, or textured hair.
Cetyl
Stearyl Alcohol (vegetable wax) is a waxy vegetable ingredient used to give moisturizers
a bit of heft and contact feel. It also is a lubricant. Helps to hold the bar together.
Rice protein: is a powerful ingredient in hair care that strengthens, volumizes, and improves elasticity, making it ideal for all hair types. Rice
protein delivers a complete amino acid profile that penetrates deep into
damaged hair cuticles, rebuilding broken keratin bonds and restoring elasticity
by up to 3x while reducing breakage by 60% after the initial
application—working for all hair types without the heavy feel of animal-based
proteins.
Panthenol (1%) Pantothenic acid (Pro-Vitamin B5) is present in all living
cells in the form of Pantothenic acid which is a constituent of Co-enzyme A. A deficiency
in Pantothenic acid results in dermatological and many physiological disorders.
It is used in many hair care products but also is easily absorbed by the skin.
Well known for its anti-inflammatory properties for professional skin care
formulations where it also acts as a powerful redness reducer even when used at
only 1.0%. Hmmmmm, redness reducer? Anti-inflammatory? Problem is… At $15 a
pound, manufacturers either don’t use it, or use just barely enough to put it
on the label. We use 1%. That’s actually a lot.
Kaolin
Clay: The anti-inflammatory and healing properties of
kaolin clay make it beneficial for scalps with conditions like dandruff,
seborrheic dermatitis, or psoriasis.
