This is a popular product, we are now improving. We have now added several more active ingredients: Carley's Dark Circle Cream is now probably the most technical product we make. It is definitely the most complex.

Palmitoyl Peptide Complex (identical to Haloxyl®)

This is a combination of active ingredients able to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes that are caused by colored blood pigments in the skin. It also has been found to have an anti-irritant effect and may reinforce firmness and tone of the eye area.

New! Eye'fective is a multi-functional active that focuses on lifting droopy eyelids, lightening dark under eye circles, and making wrinkles less visible. Eye'fective contains extract from two white flowers; Hawthorne and Arabian Jasmine. Hawthorne is rich in flavonoids; skin care products that include flavonoids are capable of contributing towards maintaining the skin's overall quality and appearance, and traditionally used to treat circulatory problems. Arabian Jasmine is rich in iridoid glycosides and flavonoids, traditionally used by its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

Eye'fective works to lighten dark circles by reducing permeability of blood vessels and capillaries, improves blood circulation and decreases the accumulation of skin darkening molecules. Eye'fective also works byincreasing synthesis of collagen, producing a lifting effect, and the inhibition of collagen glycation boosts skin firmness.

Caffeine 1% Caffeine reduces Puffiness and Dark Circles: Caffeine constricts blood vessels, which helps minimize swelling and fluid accumulation under the eyes, reducing the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. This vasoconstrictive effect is particularly effective for the delicate periorbital area.

Bakuchiol 1% In addition to its many benefits similar to Retinol, Bakuchiol also lightens dark spots.

Hyaluronic acid ½ of 1%. Hyaluronic Acid is a special protein occurring naturally throughout the human body, and is one of the most heavily researched substances in medicine today with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the fields of orthopedics and eye surgery. Its function in the body is, among other things, to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Its consistency and tissue-friendliness makes it an excellent moisturizer, which is why it has earned a place in skin-care products and cosmetics. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most hydrophilic molecules in nature and as such it is aptly described as “nature’s moisturizer”.

Allantoin ½ of 1% Allantoin is present in botanical extracts of the comfrey plant. It is famous for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties.

Reverse Osmosis purified water : virtually all skin care products mention purified water. But the real deal is reverse osmosis purified water. This mean ZERO contaminants which means the starting point is pure. It’s expensive to do (goes through 5 filters, which have to be changed often), but it is the only water we use. We use the waste water from this purifying process to water our flowers and landscaping. So there is no waste.

Sacha Inchi Oil: This oil is perhaps my favorite oil. Why? Because of its ability to absorb right through many layers of skin and bring important nutrients with it. All the active ingredients above need to get below the skin’s surface to work their magic.

Emulsifying wax: This is a vegetable wax that is used to combine the oils and water.

Stearic acid: is not an acid, but another vegetable wax. Adds creaminess.

Germall Plus (diazolidinyl Urea, 3-Iodo-2-propylbutylcarbarmate) (a vegetable derived preservative to keep our product fresh)

Look before you ask, no totally natural preservative really protects products from bacteria. We don’t like using Parabens. and since we pH balance our moisturizers we are limited in our choice of preservatives. What’s great about this one is so little is needed to afford protection.

pH neutral: And why is this important? Although we use ingredients that have an acid pH, the finished moisturizer is pH neutral, like all of our moisturizers. We believe the skin is actually stressed by acids. Virtually all moisturizers on the market are acid.

We wondered why? If acids are so good for the skin as these products claim, why does it feel so good to take a swim in the ocean? Where the pH of the water is very much the opposite of acid. Why is it recommended to keep swimming pool water slightly alkaline? There is a whole line of thinking now that promotes alkalinity. We believe the skin and all of nature loves alkaline and hates acids. Ocean water (which is teeming with life), is very alkaline (pH 8.1). If our ocean would become even slightly acid, mostly they would be a mostly dead body of water. Forget this nonsense of the ‘acid mantle’. In fact, our blood’s pH is slightly alkaline. Even a slight deviation from this can cause great harm.
